The fall holiday season is upon us, which means that the second annual Banc of California Turkey Trot 5K race on Thanksgiving Day is nearly here.
Registration for this year’s event begins at 7:30 a.m, and the official start time is 8 a.m. sharp. Runners will begin at the PaliHi football field and traverse a majestic 3.1-mile course through the neighborhood west of the school and south of Sunset before crossing the finish line at the stadium’s 50-yard line. Street closures will be in ef- fect from 6:30 to 10 a.m.
Entry fees for adults 18 and over are $35 before the race and $40 on race day, while the fee for children is $25.
Charitable partners are the Los Angeles Food Bank and Hearts with Hope, an initiative that brings medical, dental and administrative care to children living with congenital heart disease throughout the world.
Each runner is encouraged to bring an item of canned or boxed food to the event; Palisadians out of town for the Trot are invited to make a donation to either charity.
Entry packets can be retrieved the day before the race, between 3 and 8 p.m at PaliHi (where two food trucks, Greenz on Wheelz and Hang 10 Tacos will also be in attendance from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m).
