Local clergy will host the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving celebration at Corpus Christi, at the corner of Carey Street and Sunset Boulevard at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24. All residents are invited.
Palisades Presbyterian Minister Eric Schaefer will give the homily, “Surrender to Thankfulness.”
Tentative plans are for Msgr. Liam Kidney of Corpus to present the greeting and also the benediction. Rabbi Amy Bernstein will select a reading from the Hebrew Bible. St. Matthew’s Reverend Michael Seiler will read from the New Testament.
Sharing a sign of peace will be Pastor Wally Mees of the Lutheran Church. There will be a reading from the Bhagavad-Gita by Brother Satyananda of the Self-Realization Fellowship. Reverend Catie Coots of the Community Methodist Church will give the Presidential Proclamation of Thanksgiving.
A prayer for unity will be given by the clergy, and songs will be sung by a combined choir as well as the Corpus Christi Children’s Choir.
